1. New Builds
Breaking from tradition, contestants will design fully brand-new homes instead of renovating existing structures. Each house will feature five bedrooms, a study, a garage, a heated swimming pool, and high-end landscaping. As well as this, every single house has an identical layout so it will really come down to the unique exterior facade designs on each house and how well the contestants design the interior and landscaping as to who wins!
2. Back to Block Country
The Block is back to the country, for the first time since Tree Change in 2022! This time, its Daylesford, VIC, which is slightly further regional from Melbourne than Gisborne was in 2022.
3. Focus on Sustainability
The 2025 homes are designed to be fully carbon-neutral, aiming to meet Victoria’s seven-star energy efficiency standards. This could be a key selling factor the sustainably-minded buyer on auction day.
4. Revamped Casting Process
The casting process has undergone significant changes, including the departure of longtime casting director Lucky Price. This overhaul aims to bring fresh faces and dynamics to the show. We've already heard the executive producer Julian Cress say that the new contestants could be the most competitive, talented ones they have ever had.
5. More Inclusivity
This season includes not one, but two LQBTIQA+ couples! Han and Can & Robby and Mat. It will be great to see the new season being more inclusive to this community (which Daylesford is known for) with these awesome couples!
